Tooth Extraction

You Are In Safe With Our Best Doctors

Tooth Extraction is the process of removing the teeth from the tooth socket in the mouth. Surgical tooth extraction procedures are mostly performed to remove wisdom teeth, damaged tooth roots and excessive dense bone around the problematic tooth.

Who Is It Suitable For?
  • Tooth extraction is mostly applied for gingival diseases that are at risk of infection due to tooth congestion, slippage, root infection and ongoing medical treatment.
Treatment time abroad
  • Minimum stay: 1 Day
  • Number of trips: 1
Treatment process
  • An average surgical tooth extraction is completed in about 30 minutes to two hours.
  • A significant reduction in pain, swelling and bleeding can be observed 24 hours after the procedure.
  1. Anesthesia: Your doctor starts the operation by giving you a few injections. Depending on the nature of the problem, two or more injections into your gum may be necessary. General anesthesia may also be recommended depending on the situation.
  2. Incision (only for surgical tooth extraction): If a simple extraction cannot be performed, surgical tooth extraction may be necessary. This can occur, for example, from a broken tooth. A small incision is made in the gum to reach the tooth. This allows the dentist to reach the tooth and surrounding bone much more easily.
  3. Tooth extraction: Your doctor always takes care to extract the tooth in one piece. However, this is not always possible. In some cases, the safest option is to separate the tooth into parts and pull each part separately with the help of special materials.
  4. Stitching (only for surgical tooth extraction): After your doctor is completely sure that the entire tooth has been removed, he or she will do two or three stitches to close the wound. These stitches are mostly dissolvable, so you don’t need to go to a separate appointment to have them removed.
  • For 24 hours, the patient should not rinse his mouth, and injurious movements such as vigorous spitting should be avoided.
  • In case of severe pain, painkillers should be taken regularly as prescribed.
  • Hard foods should be avoided for 24 hours after the surgery in order not to damage the surgical site.

This procedure is an invasive operation and, like most procedures, you will feel a certain amount of pain.

In order to avoid infections, you should brush without touching the area where the extraction is made.

Possible risks and side effects
  • Infection may occur.
  • Excessive bleeding may occur.
  • Nausea may be felt.
  • Excessive swelling may occur.
  • The success rate of routine surgical tooth extraction procedures is close to one hundred percent.
